Lancaster County Housing Market Remains Strong in August 2026

Lancaster, PA – September 9, 2026 – Lancaster County’s housing market continued to show strength in August, with increases in pending sales, closed sales and home prices compared with August 2025.
The county recorded 502 closed sales, up 3.1% from August 2025. The median sold price was $385,000, a 5.5% increase from $365,000 a year ago.
“Lancaster County continues to be a desirable place to call home, and the August numbers reflect steady buyer demand,” said Christina Diehl, President of the Lancaster County Association of REALTORS® (LCAR). “We are encouraged to see increases in sales along with more homes coming onto the market, providing additional opportunities for buyers.”
New listings totaled 523, up 10.3% from August 2025, while 492 homes went under contract, an increase of 7.2% year-over-year.
Inventory also improved, with 685 active listings, compared with 612 a year ago. Homes averaged 19 days on the market, and the average sold-to-original-list-price ratio was 103.8%.
“While market conditions vary by neighborhood and price range, these numbers demonstrate continued confidence in Lancaster County’s housing market,” Diehl added. “A local REALTOR® can help buyers and sellers understand current conditions and make informed decisions.”
