Lancaster County Housing Market Sees Strong Buyer Demand in May

LANCASTER, PA (June 2026) Buyer activity remained strong across Lancaster County in May as pending sales increased 12.7% compared to the same time last year, according to the latest housing market report from the Lancaster County Association of REALTORS® (LCAR). New pending sales reached 558, while the median sold price rose 5.4% year-over-year to $363,500.
"Buyers continue to show confidence in the Lancaster County market," said Christina Diehl, President of the Lancaster County Association of REALTORS®. "Even with limited inventory, homes are moving quickly and values remain strong, reflecting the continued demand for homeownership in our community."
Active listings increased to 593 homes, providing buyers with more options than seen in recent years. Homes sold in an average of 19 days and sellers received 102.7% of their original list price on average.
"The increase in available inventory is encouraging, but we're still operating in a competitive market," Diehl added. "REALTORS® continue to play an important role in helping buyers and sellers navigate today's conditions with confidence."
